Emission Inventory for Smaller Cities

Purpose and Objective

Upon completion of the 5-day course, participants contribute in the development, continuous refinement and regular updating of emission inventory of their city.

Target Participants

The target participants of this training workshop are City technical officers coming from the following departments of the City Government:
• environment;
• transport;
• health;
• urban planning;
• industry;
• energy;
• agriculture;
• forestry;
• waste management; and
• sanitation.


At the end of the training, the participants will be able to:
1. identify the emission sources (point, area, mobile sources) in their cities;
2. develop an understanding of how computation of emission loading from different sources is conducted; and
3. design a work plan for the establishment of emission inventories in their city.

Module 1. Emission Inventory as a Foundation of Air Quality Management
Module 2. How to Identify Air Pollution Emission Sources: Point, Line (mobile), Area Sources
Module 3. Emissions Inventory of Point Sources
Module 4. Emissions Inventory of Area Sources
Module 5. Emissions Inventory of Mobile Sources
Module 6. QA/QC
Workshop: Emissions Inventory Work Plan
Presentation of EI Work Plan

Participation Fee

Php 12,000 per person, inclusive of training kit, course materials, certificate with holder, lunch, and snacks.  Please make checks payable to UP National Center for Transportation Studies Foundation, Inc. (UPNCTSFI).

Minimum Degree Requirement

Bachelor’s Degree.
