In time for the active transport week, the UP National Center for Transportation Studies Foundation has completed the “Network Planning for the Establishment of Bike Lanes in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao,” an initiative launched under the “Promotion of Low Carbon Urban Transport Systems Project” of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The main objective of this master plan is to provide local government units in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao with a guide towards a more comprehensive, inclusive and equitable bike lanes network development. This plan includes technical, institutional and information/education components among others that may be adopted by the LGUs.
