DOE-DOST Auto-LPG PUV Prototype Presented at the DOE

The U.P. National Center for Transportation Studies (UP-NCTS), led by its Project Leader, Dr. Edwin N. Qurios (Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering/Head, U.P.-Vehicle Research and Testing Laboratory and Research & Extension Fellow, UP-NCTS) presented the prototype DOE-DOST Auto-LPG Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Prototype on December 5, 2022 at the Department of Energy in Taguig City during its celebration of the 2022 National Energy Consciousness Month (NECM) as part of the Display and Showcase of Alternative Fuel Vehicles of the Energy Utilization Management Bureau (EUMB) through the Alternative Fuels and Energy Technology Division (AFETD). The development of the PUV prototype is the product of the multi-year research project entitled “Engineering the Jeepney Using an OEM Vehicle Platform” implemented by UP-NCTS for the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCIEERD) and the Energy Utilization Management Bureau of the Department of Energy (DOE-EUMB). Director Patrick T. Aquino of the DOE-EUMB, Engr. Nonilo A. Peña, Chief, Energy and Utilities Systems Technology Development Division (EUSTDD) of DOST-PCIEERD gave messages at the event and was also attended by automotive industry partners such as Fil-Asia Automotive and Industries Corporation, Philippine Automotive Depot Inc., Clean Fuels and Engr. Ricardo A. Cruz as well as DOE-EUMB and DOST-PCIEERD staff.
