Congratulations to the UP Diliman Institute of Civil Engineering (UPD ICE) & Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) students for completing the NCTS Internship Program and for their presentation of learnings and experiences here at the Center! The Culminating Activity was held on July 24, 2026, at the UP NCTS Room A. The nineteen (19) students from UPD ICE and two (2) students from MSU-IIT stayed at the NCTS from June 18-July 24, 2026, covering five (5) weeks and completed 200 work hours for UPD ICE and 240 work hours for MSU-IIT.

The event was hosted by Ms. Maribelle Lobendino, NCTS REPS and Student Affairs Coordinator, and was attended by the NCTS Director Jun Castro, who gave the welcome remarks. All in attendance were NCTS personnel, along with representatives from the UPD ICE and MSU-IIT Department of Civil Engineering and Technology who oversee their respective internship programs. These included Dr. Justin Joseph Valdez, CE 195 Internship Coordinator, UPD-ICE and Engr. Ervin Cristobal, RCE, MSST, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering and Technology, MSU-IIT.

The NCTS Internship Program provided the students with practical experience in conducting research, producing knowledge products, and becoming familiar with the various career paths within the engineering industry. Additionally, as learners, they have developed competencies, work ethics, and values relevant to pursuing further education and entering the workforce.
