NCTS Welcomes Student Interns from UPIS

The National Center for Transportation Studies (NCTS) is pleased to welcome four (4) Grade 12 students from the University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) to undergo an internship. Enrolled in the Applied Sciences and Engineering (ASE) track, the student’s internship aligns with UPIS’s goal of providing hands-on experience in research and product generation while exposing students to potential careers in engineering and medical fields. UPIS considers NCTS an ideal training venue, offering real-world exposure to professional work environments.

On March 16, 2026, Ms. Maribelle Lobendino, NCTS Student Affairs Coordinator, conducted an orientation for the interns. The session outlined expectations, guidelines, and the specifics of the 10-day internship, scheduled to run from March 16 to 27, 2026, fulfilling the required 80 hours.

A courtesy call with Dr. Jun T. Castro, NCTS Director, was also held on March 18, 2026 to formally welcome the interns.

The NCTS Internship Program aims to provide students with practical experience in conducting research, creating knowledge products, and exploring diverse career paths in the engineering field. The program also focuses on developing interns’ competencies, work ethics, and values, which are critical for the students’ future professional success.
