Traffic Engineering and Management Group (TEM)

The TEM is tasked to take the lead in research, extension, and training activities in conventional and evolving areas of Traffic Engineering and Management. Its goals are: (1) to provide human resource development, (2) to generate relevant, accurate, and objective information thru evidence-based investigation and solutions, (3) establish stronger linkages and collaboration with the National Government Agencies (NGAs) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in matters of road traffic injury prevention, including child road traffic injury, through national coalition, and (4) deliver extension services to private and public agencies for the end purpose of helping cities in the Philippines achieve well-designed traffic facilities and traffic management schemes that ensure efficient, safe, and reliable transportation. The major study areas of this group include Traffic Flow and Highway Capacity, Road Traffic Safety, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Evaluation of Traffic Management Schemes. TEM also hopes to undertake activities in collaboration with other groups in Traffic Impact Assessment, Sustainable Urban Transportation (Transit, Non-Motorized Transportation, and Air Quality) and Modelling.
