Training on Child Road Traffic Injury Prevention (CRTIP)
The Training on Child Road Traffic Injury prevention is a basic course that addresses local road safety issues involving school children. The training program would provide the necessary skills to create an environment that will ensure safe travel to and from the school of children. This training includes the utilization of the International Road Assessment Programme’s (iRAP) specialized tool called Star Rating for Schools (SR4S). The concept and tool allows the generation of models to demonstrate improved road safety and safe journey to school of children by selecting appropriate road safety interventions in order to satisfy the minimum 3-star rating as recommended by iRAP. The specialized training program is being offered in collaboration with UNICEF to local government unit (LGU) employees especially those from Public Safety Office, City Planning and Development Office, Traffic Management Office and City Engineering Office.
