UP NCTS participates in the capacity-building session on the Fundamentals of SBCC and Advocacy Communications
The UP National Center for Transportation Studies (UP NCTS) participates in the capacity-building session on the Fundamentals of Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) and Advocacy Communications. The event was pushed through by the National Coalition for Child Road Traffic Injury Prevention (CRTIP), for the continued support in sustaining works on child road safety.

The National Coalition for CRTIP is a multi-sectoral collaboration of government agencies, civil society organizations, the academe, and the private sector, working together to reduce child road deaths and injuries in the Philippines. It aims to contribute to the target set in the Philippine Road Safety Action Plan (PRSAP) 2017-2022 particularly by preventing road crashes involving children.

Invited participants belong to national and local government agencies, private sector, civil society, and academe, who gained up-to-date knowledge and insights on the best practices for social and behavior change communication, including the fundamentals of empathic and advocacy communication. During the learning session, possible innovative and impactful communication activities and routes for child road safety were discussed and the capacity-building needs for National Coalition members on SBCC and advocacy communications were also identified.

The Learning Session was held on March 1, 2023, at Cocoon Boutique Hotel, Diliman, Quezon City and was attended by Ms. Maribelle Lobendino, Research, Extension and Professional Staff (REPS) and Ms. Cheryl Brides, Administrative Aide at the UP NCTS.
