On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, Mr. Keith V. Flordeliza, Senior Corporate Planning Analyst, and Mr. Carl Joaquin Campos, Intern, both from the Land Rail Transport Authority (LRTA), visited UP NCTS. They met with Engr. Aileen Mappala, UP NCTS Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS), and Director of UP Diliman Transportation Management Office (UPD TMO), to discuss LRTA’s Bike Sharing Program implementation. Also present at the meeting were Ms. Teresita Ronquillo and Ms. Maribelle Lobendino, who are also NCTS REPS. The NCTS REPS suggested factors or considerations that have to be considered when doing a bike-sharing program from data collection to operation. The LRTA is presently undertaking a Pre-Feasibility assessment for the potential implementation of a Bike Sharing Program at LRT Line 2 Stations. This initiative aligns with their commitment to offer high-quality and convenient multi-modal public transportation services.
