It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Primitivo Cal. Dr. Cal was formerly the Dean of the School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP) and Director of the National Center for Transportation Studies (NCTS) of the University of the Philippines Diliman. He served as Undersecretary of the then Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) in the 1990s. He was also former President of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE). He was the first President of the Transportation Science Society of the Philippines as well as a former President of its mother society, the Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies (EASTS). Our prayers are with his family and for the eternal repose of his soul.
