The Center is thrilled to announce a significant development in Metro Manila’s traffic management! On October 6, 2023, a meeting on “Capacity Enhancement in Traffic Management with the Improvement of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in Metro Manila” was convened.

The primary focus of this substantial project is to update the Metro Manila Intelligent Transport Systems Master Plan. It is a result of the recently completed 5-Year Action Plan under the Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan (CTMP) for Metro Manila.
This project is set to span over three years, with the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) leading the charge. The project aims to enhance the urban transportation environment in Metro Manila while strengthening the capacity for traffic management using ITS. A glimpse of the project outputs includes:
- Improved planning capacity for ITS development.
- Enhanced capacity for the implementation of ITS
- Established operation and maintenance management system for ITS utilization
This promising venture also explores facets such as the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) ITS Masterplan, data standardization, and the 2013 ITS Masterplan.
